GSS Denouncement of the SFSS Lockout

The GSS has issued its open letter to the SFSS Board of Directors denouncing their decision to lock out employees.

Council unanimously approved the two motions regarding the Graduate Student Society’s response to the SFSS Lockout of CUPE 3338 Unit 5 staff members at its meeting on July 18 2011:


The GSS denounces the decision of the SFSS Board of Directors to lock out its employees.


The GSS will also be formally notifying the SFSS that by locking out CUPE 3338 staff members, that the GSS considers these actions to be a breach of the “Agreement to Provide Services between the SFSS and the Graduate Student Society”. The GSS will call on the SFSS to rescind its lockout and return to the bargaining table to ensure required services are delivered appropriately to GSS members.  Other actions to follow up on this formal notice have been tasked to our Operations & Finance Officer.
