Pierre began as Executive Director in September 2015. Previously, he has worked in external relations for the AMS at UBC and in international relations for the Quebec government. He has served or is serving as a volunteer and board director for a number of non-profit organizations, including the Stanley Park Ecology Society. He received a PhD in Comparative History from Brandeis University in Massachusetts.
The Executive Director ensures that the goals of the Society, as set in its by-laws, strategic plan and Council, are met in a timely fashion. He provides oversight and direction for its daily operation and works collaboratively with a team of elected student directors and standing committees. He is responsible for supervising the work of a number of dedicated, talented, unionized part-time staff members.

Harjap joined the GSS in August 2018. The Advocate and Policy Advisor provides support for students in conflict, while concurrently building collaborative, mutually respectful relationships with key players at the University. Additionally, they help the Society with macro-advocacy concerns that affect graduate students as a whole and with internal governance.
The Administrator provides oversight for all bookkeeping and administrative functions and is the go-to person for office operations and procedures, financial matters, records and bookkeeping.
Jenna-Leigh joined the GSS as an Administrative Assistant in January 2022. She is a PhD student in the Arts Education program in the Faculty of Education. Originally from Ontario, Jenna-Leigh brings a passion for service to the student community to her role at the GSS.
The Administrative Assistants are responsible for many duties around the GSS office including maintaining the lounge and coffee service, booking rooms, scheduling meetings, distributing cheques to students, updating the website and social media streams, answering inquiries, creating electronic content and designing posters.
Megan joined the GSS team as an Administrative Assistant in November 2022. She is a Master’s student in the Quantitative and Theoretical Area of Psychology at SFU. Passionate about advocacy and well-being, she is proud to support the GSS and its student community.

Saba joined the GSS team as an Administrative Assistant in January 2022. She is a Master’s student in the Faculty of Education, in the Educational Technology and Learning Design program. She is an international student, and loves helping out all SFU students and GSS members. She enjoys reading and exploring new places.
