Position: Executive Director, Student Affairs Search Committee

We are looking for a graduate student volunteer for this very important hiring committee. This is an opportunity that will be a good addition to your resume and is a wonderful learning opportunity for anyone who is planning to pursue a career in academia, student services, or for anyone who wants to learn more about the internal workings of a hiring process before they begin seeking their own employment opportunities.

SFU is in the process of forming a hiring committee for the Executive Director, Student Affairs and graduate student representative is needed. This position reports directly to the Associate Vice-President Students and International and is responsible for overseeing units such as Residence & Housing, Health & Counselling, the Centre for Students with Disabilities, the First Nations Student Centre, and many others. As such, this position plays a pivotal role in overseeing many services that are essential for graduate students.

Membership on the committee includes two students, one of which must be a graduate student nominated by the GSS. Participating in this committee is an excellent opportunity to help shape the future direction of services for students and can provide you with high level professional experience.
