The GSS Lounge and offices at SFU Burnaby will be closed all day on Friday, September 27.
We will reopen at the usual time on Monday morning (9am).
A few days ago, SFU’s President Andrew Petter issued a statement on the Global Climate Strike, saying that “SFU recognizes that climate change poses an existential threat to the future of our planet, and that many of our students, faculty and staff are deeply concerned about this issue.” He went on to encourage instructors, departments, and managers to make allowances to allow students, faculty and staff to participate in this event.
Following the spirit of this statement, the GSS Lounge and offices will be closed on September 27 so that our staff and student directors may attend the Global Climate Strike in Vancouver if they wish.
