Meet the Graduate Student Society: Advocacy, services and how to get involved!

Wednesday, September 2nd @ 2:00 pm

This is an information session about the Graduate Student Society (GSS) that represents all graduate students at SFU. We would like to welcome new graduate students to SFU and inform them about what they can expect from their student society. The GSS team will provide information about how the society advocates for graduate students, services that we provide and how you can get involved! Student involvement drives the activities and direction of the society.

Want to meet fellow graduate students? Feel like relaxing and having some fun? Want to improve the graduate student experience? Want to know where you can turn for support and services? Come hang out with us on September 2nd where you can get informed and ask questions. Returning students are also welcome to attend this session to learn more about the GSS.

Common Areas Safety Plan

SFU has released a comprehensive safety plan for SFU’s common areas, which you can find here. For students planning to return to campus, a list of open study areas and lounges is included as an appendix to the plan. Please note this list is subject to change depending on compliance with established safety measures. Safety and Risk Services is working with Facilities Services to map campus study areas and lounges, and to add them to the SFU Snap app.

However, for those who are planning to travel to their country or somewhere else and return to Canada even if their study permit is issued before March 18th, students should contact Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and inquire if documentation from SFU may be needed for their travel.
