This program is eligible to individuals who satisfy ALL of the following requirements:
- Are currently registered in an SFU Graduate program; AND,
- Live with at least one dependent child (under 21 years of age) of your own; AND,
- Have been assessed to receive the GSS Family Bursary in the past year (between September 2023 and now); OR have been assessed to receive bursary funding by SFU Financial Aid and Awards in the past year (between September 2023 and now).

Registration ends on Monday December 9th at 4:00PM. ☑

The polling for the GSS Director Elections is open from 11:59 am on Monday November 25th and until 11:59 pm on Friday November 29th. You can find your ballot by following the link on the poster and selecting the "GSS Director Elections - Fall 2024"

We are using a new elections platform for the first time this election. If you cannot access your ballot using the link above please email ec@sfugradsociety.ca for assistance.

Graduate Student Rep needed for the SFU Institutio

Graduate Student Rep needed for the SFU Institutional Biosafety Committee

The SFU Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) oversees the safe use, storage and disposal of biohazardous materials by all members of the SFU community including faculty, staff, graduate students and undergraduate researchers. The IBC is a standing committee with faculty, staff, and student representation from across campus. The committee is responsible for developing and implementing policies, programs and procedures as it pertains to the Biosafety program to assure compliance with federal, provincial, and local legislation and the regulations, codes and standards of applicable regulatory authorities.

The IBC is seeking a new graduate student representative for a volunteer position. An ideal representative is one who is familiar with working in a laboratory with biohazardous materials and who would be available for meetings. The time commitment is not onerous; the committee meets once per semester for about 1 hour each time.
