Dear SFU Campus Community,
It has come to our attention that several #WeJustNeedToPee posters, distributed throughout the bathrooms on all three campuses, have been subject to hate messages and vandalism. This is a deeply disturbing and worrisome occurrence that we at the GSS condemn in the strongest possible terms. We would like to express our solidarity and support for the LGBTQ+ community and endorsement of the poster campaign.
Bathrooms should be safe for everyone, including trans, non-binary and queer students, teachers, and staff. The campaign was launched this summer by Out On Campus, a service operated by SFSS, with support from the GSS. They are dedicated to providing space, resources, and support to the LGBTQ+ community at SFU.
